Hey there, folks! In July, we’ll have developer Bijon Banerjee talking about ADA compliance. From Bijon: “ADA compliance within web development is no longer becoming just a feature, but a requirement. As web developers building custom-coded themes, it is important for us to have ADA compliance in mind as we build our themes to promote inclusivity in our final product (not to mention avoid legal ramifications). While making an entire site ADA compliant may feel daunting, there are small steps we can take in our already established workflow to make our code more rich, inclusive, and readable. In this talk, I will discuss a brief history/background of ADA compliance, the common gotchas, and how to think about it holistically. This includes things like semantic HTML, upgrading your post loops, doing your part in the design phase, and more.”
