In July, please join us in welcoming speaker Andy Stitt. He will be giving a presentation on website accessibility. From Andy:
"Web accessibility can be daunting to learn if you’re new to it. There’s so much information, and a lot of it is written in jargon instead of easy to understand language. Yet, we need to know accessibility for the civil rights of disabled people and because it’s the law.
This talk will show you why accessibility is important; design, development, and content considerations; and WordPress features that you can use to help make your website more accessible."
Please note that for this event we will be meeting the 3rd Monday instead of our usual 2nd Monday. The 2nd Monday is right after the 4th of July long weekend and we figured folks, myself included, might be busy catching up with work. In August we'll be back to our regular schedule on the 2nd Monday.
Also, as we mentioned at the June meetup, we are switching from Zoom to Microsoft Teams. We no longer have access to a paid Zoom account, and the free version only allows meetings up to 40 minutes which does not meet our needs. My co-organizer Matt Lewis has a paid Teams account through the company he owns, Green Street Technology Solutions. I used it as a web app the last time I used it, but if you'd prefer to download it you can do so here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app

I’m registered but Teams is giving me headaches. Hopefully if I click a link sent when the meeting begins it will get me there. Trying to log into teams otherwise doesn’t seem to be allowing much of anything.
